 Andy. M. Jones
After spending some of my childhood in S. Africa I returned to the Midlands where I later misspent my youth playing in bands. In 1983 I needed to move on and stuck a pin in a map, luckily ending up in Gwynedd and not the Irish Sea... it was here that I met Russ. It didn't take us long to realise we shared an interest in most types of music, and having met his fellow band members was soon invited to play guitar in the vocal, banjo, accordion, backing track line up.
Being once again in a new country, I was ready for a new challenge, and so needless to say, I accepted. The band flourished for some time adding along the way Mandolin, 2nd banjo, double bass, drums and violin, but by now was becoming a little stifling.
Because of our friendship and involvement in other music, Russ and I eventually broke away from the main body of the band, at first as a side line but later a total break. We had no trouble in finding our musical direction and soon had compiled a set on which we could both build and modify at will. Despite our common interest we fortunately seem to excel at different things, which is ideal in our current situation, and makes the running of Rundogrun a very fluid process. Having a background in Marketing, Management and IT enables me to compliment Russ's grasp of art, design and creative writing, and together, we feel we are a strong self-contained unit. At present I'm glad I'm able to apply my practical abilities to my creative urges.
